TMD Technologies is attending EMC 2015 in Dresden with its latest range of travelling wave tube and solid state amplifiers for HIRF EMC testing.

Travelling wave tube amplifiers (TWTA) will be featuring on the TMD Technologies stand at the EMC 2015 event taking place in August in Germany. The new TWTA range incorporates significant technical features to cover a gamut of applications in the EMC, scientific and medical fields, as well as in passive intermodulation (PIM) testing, telecommunications and EW simulation.

TMD’s latest amplifiers on show are proven in the field, and are achieving generally over 10 kW of power and up to 40 kW for certain pulsed models, with a frequency range up to 40 GHz using suites of both TWT based and solid state amplifiers.

The PTC Series ultra-high power pulsed TWTAs has now been further extended, optimised for use in HIRF EMC testing. Using the PTC Series instrumentation amplifiers, EMC test laboratories have generated 14,000 V/m (measured in an anechoic chamber), easily complying with the latest, most demanding RTCA/DO-160 G and L test requirements. Other standards covered include: MIL Standard, EUROCAE and AIRBUS ABD 100.

In keeping with its philosophy of offering customers the advantages of both tube and solid state technology, TMD has also introduced a full range of solid state amplifiers, operating below 6 GHz and designated the PTCS Series.

“Our amplifiers offer high reliability, compact and lightweight design and the ability to be customised for special applications”, said TMD’s Technical Sales Representative, Imad Gharib. “Moreover, we are able to provide full turnkey EMC testing systems, and have close contact with both antenna specialists and anechoic chamber specialists to achieve this.”

EMC 2015 will take place in Dresden, Germany from 16th to 22nd August 2015.
