Software programmable USB pluggable data acquisition module from Data Translation available in boxed or board version for integrating in other devices.

Data Translation has released the multifunctional DT9857E USB data acquisition module with eight or 16 analogue inputs (24-bit), two 32-bit analogue outputs, digital I/O lines, tachometer input and counters.

The analogue inputs can be configured to suit specific requirements, an IEPE/ICP sensor current source is individually programmable. The flexible supply voltage range from 4.75 to 28 VDC makes this module a perfect option for vehicle-based test and measurement applications.

Each analogue input channel is provided with a 24-bit A/D converter and integrated anti-aliasing filters, the maximum sampling rate per channel is 105.4 kHz. For each input, a separate 4 mA IEPE/ICP sensor current source can be programmed and you can select between AC and DC coupling and input ranges of ±10 V or ±1 V. In addition to the analogue inputs, the USB data acquisition module features two analogue outputs (32-bit, 216 kHz), one 32-bit tachometer input (±30 V), various counters as well as eight digital inputs and outputs. Multiple hardware trigger functions are conveniently configurable by software.

Both the analogue inputs and the analogue outputs of two or more modules can be synchronised easily using sync cables. This way, it is possible to implement measurement systems with 32 or more analogue inputs and a corresponding variety of analogue outputs and digital I/O functions without great effort.

The DT9857E module is available both as a robust BNC-boxed version and a board version for integration into OEM devices. The module comes with 32/64-bit drivers for common Windows operating systems, many useful programming tools and interfaces as well as the proprietary QuickDAQ data logger application, which can be upgraded with FFT-options for spectral analysis.
