Plug-in Hybrid Jeep Compass comes under scrutiny at Lapland proving ground for real-world life testing.
The Jeep Renegade 4xe vehicle has been joined by its Compass 4xe compatriot to undergo a series of extended testing both on the road and on a test track close to the Arctic circle.
The 4xe models are the latest plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) from the US car manufacturer and have come under the scrutiny of extended endurance testing, the first part of which was an epic 3000km road test from the company’s Mirafiori plant in the Italian city of Turin to the proving ground at Arjeplog in Lapland.
Over the course of one week, the first two Jeep plug-in hybrid electric models in the EMEA region were put through their paces in real-world scenarios, that customers themselves could encounter, as the vehicles’ advanced plug-in hybrid systems were tested to their limits.
Like all Jeep SUVs, the new Renegade and Compass 4xe have been subjected to a wide range of complex processes to guarantee quality, safety, reliability and comfort in all conditions, the latest phase of which was the harsh test regime in Swedish Lapland.
