Toyota is attending the Automotive Engineering Exposition in Japan with its vision of future technologies for advanced mobility.
Advanced communications technology, enhanced hybrid fuel systems and the latest safety equipment will feature on the 4th generation Prius, which will be the focus of Toyota’s presence at this year’s Automotive Engineering Exposition taking place between 25th and 27th May at Pacifico Yokohama in Japan.
The Prius is the first car from the Japanese company to use the “Toyota New Global Architecture” and will feature prominently on the company’s stand with a cutaway model, the enhanced hybrid system which includes the engine as well as the lithium-ion batteries and the electronic four-wheel drive (E-four) system.
The advanced safety systems used on the Prius will also be showcased using display panels and video presentations, including the collision avoidance system (Toyota Safety Sense P) and ITS Connect, an Intelligent Transport Systems enabling technology which includes the necessary systems for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (collectively referred to as V2x) communications.
Toyota will also be using the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2016 Yokohama platform to communicate its plans for the future, including the Mobility Teammate Concept for autonomous driving.
